and how exacly do they plan to do that? im not terribly sure very many people are going to liek the idea of being without the internet for a few years, and when the internet does eventualy coem back (if it does) then they will have to buy upgrades.
Doesn't sound extremely hard (some problems like slow speeds, change h/w at home, but doable) to do it.
The real question is - do we want it? It will be very expensive and we'll probably have to pay more for less.
to the point, its not going to happen. it looks liek it was a slow news day at yahoo and some journalist wanted to see how much trouble he could stir up...
Given all of the coporate and government special interest these days into this kind of development, I can only imagine it would be the average everday internet user like us that would get screwed over somehow in this transition.

Naah ... if anything it will need to be replaced incrementally like any other infrastructure change. You just don't rip the guts out of a system and replace it when entire societies are stacked on top of it. That would be like ripping the entire power grid out - just not going to happen.

lol, i have already converted my network to ipv6... well... at least everythign is setup, all i need to do is enable ipv6 and disable ipv4...
