Yup, it happened. Had my Axim maybe three months and it got stolen last week. I left it in the cupholder in my car (I know, bonehead move) and someone broke my window and grabbed it. I live in a decent neighborhood and didn't think there was a huge issue with crime. But goes to show that you can't leave anything in your car. I suspect that they walked up to my car with a flashlight and saw it. They didn't even open the door, as all the shattered glass was still in the car and would have falled out if they did open the door. They passed up my nice watch and MP3 player. Must have been a Palm user who wanted to upgrade :)
Anyways, what pisses me off the most is that I bought it under Dell's 6 months no interest plan. I still have 3 months left...ARGH! I am lost without my PDA, so I will probably buy another one. Does anyone know if I can transfer my extended warranty from the old Axim to a new one? Also, I tried calling Dell customer service to report it stolen, but haven't gotten through to anyone as the phone menus are like a maze.
Any advice?
Also, I came across a website called StuffBak which is a service to help you get your lost/stolen items back. They basically give you a decal you put on your PDA, cell phone, keys, etc. That decal has an ID# and a phone number to call. Now, obviously no thief will call it, but I was thinking that if you put it on the inside of the battery cover, if it gets pawned or sold, there is a chance...just thought I would share - appears pretty cheap too!
