DC versus Marvel at the Movies...

I was a DC comic fanboy in my childhood. So it's a surprise to me that I find Marvel Comic movie adaptations better than the DC ones. :hide:

Daredevil/Electra smokes Batman/Catwoman. Nuff said?

It's all in the direction. The DC people need better directors.

They had better artists back in the comic book days though IMHO. Marvel had better writers. Still do in cinema. I believe the screenplay tops the direction in a movie. "The Naked Prey" excluded.

I think it also has something to do with their licensing model. DC used to keep a very tight control over their products while marvel was looser. (see as the Punisher and Hulk was quite different from the standard storyline) Which made it more subject to interpretation by the producers and directors.

That being said, Marvel has invested into producing the movies themselves in the near future... Ironman being one of the first of this type. Hopefully it works out.

Beyond that, I personally never liked the DC universe. The stories were to simplistic and the characters too flat. Stan Lee breathed life into the marvel characters, personality flaws, confusion, moral dilemmas, and day to day life.

What teenager couldn't empathize with Peter Parker or the prejudices felt by the x-men?

Personally I thought the Elektra movies were very lame compared to the Batman movies but Jennifer Garner is sure nice to look at. :)

What do you mean by "teenager"?

Yes, I liked the first and the latest Batman movie. Elektra wasn't very good, but I agree that movies based on Marvel characters tend to be better.
I really liked X-men and hope another will be made.
