Spiderman 3 - record breaker

so the movie was an opening weekend success, with $382 million worldwide. It did cost $500 million to produce and market, but will quite likely cover that within the next week or so.

What did you like about the movie?
Not like about the movie?

What do you think Spiderman 4 will be (besides even bigger)?

Surely, all will love the new release!

Have fun in the theatre!

Well, I don't know if it was the decorations in the theater gettin in the way or if it was part of the movie, but it looked like there was a spider web going from top to bottom about a third of the way in from the right and a spider about a quarter down from the top. It was just a shadowy kinda thing and it was real faint. You'd only notice it when it was bright, like somebody's face/neck area. Anybody else see that or was it just our theater being idiots?

It was alright, not nearly as good as 1 or 2.
There were at least a dozen times where I felt like jumping through the screen and smacking peter upside the head for being such an idiot. Like the kiss with his lab partner... You can't tell me you didn't know that'd piss your girlfriend off!!
It was ok, it just didn't have the same feel as 1 and 2. Even from the beginning, before the black goo (aka Venom, but only when the goo is on Brock...) he was a totally different person than in spiderman 1 and 2...
It definately wasn't worth all the hype.

What's next?
Honestly, it didn't seem like they left it with the idea that something is coming next. If it does, it'll be marrying MJ obviously. There's that chick, I think her name is Felicity Harper... And she's the Black Cat or whatever... Isn't there the Kingpin too? I don't know, I'm not really a comic book guy and I tend to get my comics mixed up a bit.

Felicia Hardy. I'd think that it would be the Lizard, as they had Curt Connors in each movie so far

Yeah, I thought of the lizard, then I thought that was from TMNT (haven't seen that yet either... Can't wait... :)). Apparently I was mistaken..

I have not seen the movie yet. Going this weekend. However, as an old Spiderman Comic Book fan, I would like to see the Punisher in the next movie. As you all may or may not know, sometimes they were allys and sometimes foes. They wanted the same thing, they jsut go about it differently.

Well, the are actually a few classic villains and a few newer gen villains that weren't touched: Electro, Kingpin (same one as in Daredevil), Carnage, The Jackal, The Chameleon, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Professor Smythe (The Spider Slayers), The Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, Morbius... just to name a few...

Take a look here http://www.samruby.com/villtoc.htm if you want a little more background...

As for the movie itself, I hear you Pebu, the storyline was the weakest of the three... it looked like Sam Raimi didn't appreciate Venom being pushed on him by Avi Arad and the rest of the Marvel gang and struggled to stuff him into an already complete movie involving Sandman - at the expense of developping Sandman's background story... as for Peter Parker, well, Tobey Maguire might have had fun "exploring more emotions" but it definitely wussified Peter to embarassing levels... geekiness is one thing - blubbering pansie is quite another...

The action sequences however were spectacular - you could see they had all the money they wanted in this film.

Not the best of the three - by far... but still an enjoyable outing. I would have been more disappointed if they hadn't made a third movie. 4-5-6...? Well, let's see if Sony opens the vault even wider (only way the core people will come back) - if not, Spidey is likely to take a very different direction (please God, don't let the next director end up giving him franchise-ending nipples on his costume!)

Saw it, and I think it was the worse of the 3. However, I still want another one.
