They see the marker with a trigger and a barrel and automatically assume it's there to symbolize a gun and believe that it condones violence.
There are also those who want the sale of markers banned altogether because of a**holes who find it necessary to take their markers out and shoot at people on the street or mess up people's houses, stores, mailboxes, you name it. Unfortunately it quickly becomes these people who become the face of paintball, rather than those of us who play because we love the game and enjoy the teamwork and competition.
It is a sport that has a very high level of possible negative visibility--and it is the job of those of us who love the game to protect it and to educate others as to what it's all about.
As for your claims of 30-35 bps---I'd first ask how good you were with your current marker? You may be able to spray 30 balls at me and hope that you hit me, but if I can put one ball on your boot that you leave sticking out with one shot.....you're out baby. :p The marker does not make the player.

Ah now I see, well, poo on those meanies that wanna shut us down!!!!!

I am rather good with my spyder as i have had it for years and have had many great victories with it. As for my BUDDY'S (:p )autococker, he is allright. To be honest he has got too much money, but, hey who am i to judge him. He is decent though. None of us are rookies if thats what your askin'. Belive me though you get a decent shot behind that gun and you have got that many balls flying by your head, whew, things get hairy sometimes. Usually we play on diff. teams!! It's more fun to play against your friends. ;)

BOYCOT SMART PARTS!

God forbid they make money from something they have a patent for.......
----what's the big deal? Paintball is an inheritantly expensive sport. They have a patent for electronic markers. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Thats right schrags11 he's got it on 3 round burst. but heres the thing when he pulls the trigger it lets off 3 rounds and when he lets go it lets off 3 more. It electro-pnuematic, I think. It's completly nuts!! I'd love to have a $1,500+ Marker like him.
For the rest of you who want to know all the mods I couldnt tell you sorry. He sent it out to some company that runs through the whole marker and replaces parts. He also runs air not co2 dont know if that helps him out or not. He said something about if you have co2 and you shoot too fast it blows balls up. Honestly if I blow a ball up my gun usually poped it in the chamber which has nothing to do with the co2 im running but maybe he knows something I don't.:rolling:
Edit: some people get real technical with their paintball. So any of you out there that might know something about what he had replace ( i think it was at air gun inc. or is the for the mini-mag?) please chime in!:D

I don't know about the whole 35 BPS thing, but it sounds to me like your friend may have a racegun. Also, I would assume he has a warp feed on that sucker, right? (Don't forget about a little thing called gravity that limits how fast balls can drop out of a hopper.)
In case you're wondering, I'm shooting a Bob Long Signature Series Autococker with a few bells & whistles. Personally, I have no desire to go electro. I'm perfectly content with the old slide trigger. I also hace a CCI Phantom pump as a backup marker.
BTW- I'm also an active member at www.pbnation.com (same screen name)

Hahahahhahahah!!!!!! Hey Phantom---you may have to explain what exactly a "pump" is to the kids who found their way here to this thread. :D I think a couple of them would be very interested to know that there was a time where markers weren't air fed, ball spraying monsters. :)
