My Axim shipped yesterday, and arrived at the local Fed-Ex office this morning. Because it was shipped via 3-5 day, cheap-ass service, it has not even been unloaded and sorted yet. They won't be sorting the slowboat stuff until the middle of the night. I can't pick it up until tomorrow, and they won't put it on a truck for delivery until Monday.

I waited three weeks for the 2k3 patch before I ordered, and it's been 2 weeks since I placed the order. Now my axim is sitting about 5 minutes from here, and I can't even go pickit up until tomorrow.

Oh, the agony!

So, what to do while I wait for pick-up tomorrow morning? Suggestions, anyone?

Find stuff to download. :) Get apps ready, make sure you have case and screen protectors ready, find more stuff to download. Put music on SD or CF card, go find more apps to download. Make sure bank account can handle a bunch of software purchases. Go to bed so you can wake up tomorrow all that much quicker. :)

Thanks for the warning, guys. I've run into this with charging other devices. I didn't even think of running it from the cradle without the battery in. I'll charge the first battery while I screw around adding files, then charge the spare when I head over to my buddy's place.

Any other advice or suggestions for a new Axim owner who hasn't had time to read all the threads on this board? Please, speak up now, before I screw something up tomorrow.

i say sleep in then go to the door! the longer u sleep in the littler chance of being bummed out u will be. i had the same predicament, it was 5min away i saw on the tracking and it took em till 5pm to get it to my house, i was so impatient!

What service was it shipped by? If it was shipped overnight, you should get it tomorrow. If it was 2-day, you have a 50-50 shot at it. If it was sent standard 3-5 day service, it most likely will not be delivered tomorrow. Mine arrived at the station at 7:30 AM this morning, and they will not even unload it until tonight. They also said it wouldn't get put on the truck until Monday, either.

But hey, I was able to interfere in time, and I get to pick mine up at the station in the morning. Looks like I have a mighty good reason to get up early on my day off; and I'll have my Ax for the weekend:D

Download tha manual from Dell, now and read all night long, it will save you the hassel in the long run, I did for about 2 weeks!:)
