ok so we recently installed windows vista premium on our gateway pc and IE7 is not loading at all, everytime i click on it i get a popup that says internet explorer has stopped working, and resetting it will work for a few minutes before IE7 will freak out and crash again and we are back to the beginning now its gotten so bad that not even resetting will help, ive also tried restarting the computer, any suggestions?
Thats not a permanent solution, but i have no experience with vista and turned down ie7 the first day i saw it. But ur on vista, so unfortunately, your forced to use it at times.

maybe it could be that I have firefox and netscape installed that could be conflicting ,ill hafta try that later when I get home from work
IE7 and FireFox V2 coexist on my Windows Vista Home Premium notebook, although other than verifying that it worked, I did not use IE7 much. It is more likely you need to go out to Windows Update and bring IE7 up to snuff with the maintenance.

i fixed it, what i did was i jus started over with a clean install, and now im restoring my files from a backup i did before hand, so hopefully it doesnt start freakin out again after this
I'm with Tankman... XP works so well I'll stick with it as long as they keep supporting it. I see no reason to go to Vista. XP seems to be the OS that MS finally got right, relatively.
Stickin' with XP Pro, works well and, I don't expect a "ton" of updates in the near future.
Yes!! My pc runs fast (with multiple users) on xp. Why should i put money into an os upgrade, and then money to update, ram, video, dvd drive, etc.
With any pc ive ever owned, i keep the original os until it gets obsolete or wickedly slow (both happen about the same time), and then just get a new pc.
