Not sure about that, but I got IE7 and have Fire fox also and I can't really tell a speed difference in either of them? Where is all the improvement?

Well chris, It's a BETA. Your judging a company just by their music player. My apple computers and ipods have yet to break. I have a old 3g ipod, a old mac mini, and a new macbook pro. None of these products have yet to break.
click on the very left end of the address bar and it will highlight the box, type in the site and hit enter. i prefer not to have to click a go button, or any button, to get going, and i can type in woot and hit enter and it goes there
The first time I ran it, my desktop froze and available memory ticked down to 0. The 2nd time I started it, the memory problem was gone but the menu fonts were missing. I found a thread on Apple's forums talking about the problem. Apple - Support - Discussions - Safari 3 Beta for Windows - app text ... Looks like many others are having the same problem.
My guess is that the major reason for Safari for Windows is so that web developers who work in Windows can test apps for the iPhone with Safari. I can't believe that Apple thinks that the will gain much market share from this. If you assume that half the Mac fanboys run Windows, too, and will install Safari, that brings their market share up to 7.5%. That's being generous, too.
Not any faster than firefox as far as I can tell. Doesn't have a new tab button. there's no "go" button either, you have to use enter no matter what.
Control T will give you additional tabs.
It seems fairly nice but I do have a problem on aximsite with "forums" drop down menu opening. The other menus work ok but the forum one doesn't quickly open with the drop down list. I probably will experiment with it some and decide if it is worth keeping since I have IE and Firefox already on my computer.
