my rant for the week.... (related to mobile devices)

UG!

ok, so here is a few thigns that i have been wanting to write about for a little while now. ENJOY!

* What's up with these stupid "cell phone radiation stoppers"?
there is this lady that goes to a networking event that i attend. her "business" is "selling" these little pices of tin foil that stick to cell phones. she claims that they block all the "microwave radiation" that emanates from the transever in the device.
three letters.

this lady cleaims that she use to be a "nurse" and read lots of stuff about how bad cell phone radeation is. you guys dont know how much i would LOVE to tell this woman off. before i go anhy further, you need to know this, first of all, my dad is an engineer at boeing. he words wit hsoem of the brightest minds in RF. before i got my wireless router, it took OVER A YEAR for me to convince him that RF waves were not harmful, during this time, i did a bunch of research regarding RF. in the end, the conclusion was reached that the waves are literally too "fat" to do any damage (in short). the following xmas, i got a wap11.

this lady, gets up in front of the entire group, and talks about how you are microwaving your head when you use a cell phone. not only is this lady SCAMMING people (she charges $150 for these little foil stamps), but she is pumping people full of false info. whats funny, is her cell phone is LITTERALY COVERED in these little foil stamps, i swear, she prolly has at least 25 on it.

before you say "well what if she is right" she is not. she has no idea what she is talking about. what she is proposing simply defies the laws of pyshics. you can not block a omni di. signal with a little foil stamp, the size of a penny. it simply is not possible without disrupting the cell phones communications with the tower.

you have to remember that most of the people who go to this networking event are little old ladies with small home businesses. the trouble with this is is that they aren't educated in RF enough to know that this lady is scamming them all into popping $150 for a little piece of tin foil.

what makes me even more mad is that fact that she repeatedly attempts to show "graphs" about the "danger" of using a cell phone.

she also tries to say how wireless routers are bad. this especially flips me off. one of my serivces is setting up wifi networks. i have had to convince more then one client that they will not get a brain tumor. from a little linksys wap.

next time i see her, i am seriously thinking about trying to strike up a conversation....

this is getting really annoying. im really starting to get tired of people referring to every small device i have as an ipod. no, its not an ipod, its a ppc, moron.

today i had to set up an ipoop video for a client. not only was the iripoff software a complete dasater to work with, but it would not let me transfer the guys existing music collection over to a different computer. stupid DRM at work.

*i hate kids.
apperintly my moms friend has decided to go rooming the country looking for a job. lucky me. she has a 6y old daughter. she is a royal pain. not only is she coming, but she is also leaving this kid at our house while she goes around the country. can you say "headache"? the kid will lick her hands, then touch everything she can get her filthy hands on. including food. other peoples food.
what makes this even worse is that my best friend has decided to go out of town. the week they are coming, so i have almost no way of ducking out of the house at will....

*what is it with cell spam?
ok, so i flip open my cell, and i have a new txt message. great. another wonderful ad for yahoo. out the the trash it goes. what, theres another one... im really getting sick of being interrupted building a computer, only to find that it isnt something important. how are they able to get away with this? i thin kthey made a no cell spam law a few years ago.

honestly, why are they puttign her in a "special" cell? they _need_ to put her in a regular cell with big bertha. thattal straighten her out.

and since when does she not like getting attention? she LOVED going to jail it gave her all sorts of publicity.

well, thats all i can think about for now.

I do agree with you however about the foil shields for mobile phones.

Chris, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Start selling tinfoil beanies to the folks at these meetings. Tell them you're saving them from all sorts of nasty, mysterious radiation. Great for reflecting harmful sun rays!!!

I'm not a Bible thumper by any means but there are certain words in his post that shouldn't be used in a forum or anywhere else.

I am not but thought that. I think that the hippie here is ABF, he is obviously aganist capitalism. He dosen't beleive in a free market where people can do as they wish and sale what they want to who.

2 things abf...

1: I dislike little annoying children too, stop acting like one

2: We hate gun control advicates, yet we bash bush, and all republicans... how nice! I'm also going to remind you, You don't own a REAL gun, stop being Ted Nugent fanboy with the " I LOVE GUNS"

Oh, and for the drm, you can only use it on 5 computers max, you can reset the drm by going into itunes. And yes, itunes does suck for the pc. I like it on the mac, it boots up in 2 secs on my macbook pro.
