If Vick is guilty and is convicted, I hope he gets the max and I hope he gets to serve it with the general prison population.
To be honest, assuming he is guilty and convicted, I doubt he'd see any jail time and certainly not in genpop.
Worst would be a fine and probation and perhaps community service. What will bite him in the butt will be the loss of his endorsement contracts and his player contract value. Millions of dollars worth down the tube.
Stupid people and their money...

I think Vick knows he's guilty. His lawyers are probably trying to figure out a way for him to plead to a lesser charge and keep his NFL contract. At this point his endorsements are probably gone. Unfortunately for Vick - he's high profile. I see a number of these kinds of cases here in FL and all they get is a slap on the wrist, pay a fine and do some community service.
BTW - We all do stupid things, with or without having money.
The news that two more of his co-defendants will go to court this week to enter plea bargains in the dogfighting case that ensnared Vick is the worst news yet for the man who allegedly not only financed "Bad Newz Kennels" but was actively involved in disposing of dogs who were unfortunate enough not to be major championship material.
It wasn't even a month ago that Vick and three others were indicted on charges they ran a dog fighting ring. Now he stands alone, his three co-defendants now seemingly more than eager to tell all to get their own sentences reduced.
His lawyers still talk bravely about a Nov. 26 trial. But the noose is tightening, just as it did around the necks of some dogs who never had a chance.
The New York Times quoted a source Tuesday as saying Vick's attorneys have been given a few more days to decide whether he should enter a guilty plea. They're playing hardball because if Vick doesn't agree, he could face even more charges in a superseding indictment the government says it plans to bring in the case later this month.
That indictment would likely include even more gory details, though it's hard to imagine much worse than the stomach-turning tales of blood and death in the initial charges.
Vick got rich by making tacklers miss him. But, even with expensive attorneys at his side, it's hard to see how he's going to escape from the government's grasp.
He's basically left with two choices, neither of them very appetizing: Plead guilty and hope for less than the five years in the prison he could get, or go to trial, listen to his former buddies tell all, and risk even more prison time.
He might have been willing to take his chances at trial against the testimony of one of his co-defendants. But now all three can be expected to occupy the witness stand if Vick goes ahead with a trial.
And to think that only a few months ago all Vick had to worry about was a funny-smelling water bottle at the airport and a few one-fingered salutes to fans.
The case against Vick has, in fact, moved with amazing quickness. It was just in April that investigators were searching the Virginia estate he owned where the dog fighting operation was allegedly headquartered, and just a month ago that he was indicted.
Now all of his co-defendants are making deals, tongues are beginning to wag, and prison cells are being prepared.
There's little doubt the feds are making an example out of Vick to send a message that they have little tolerance with an activity that is still reportedly popular in certain rural areas of the south and in the hip hop culture. He's not the first athlete to face charges associated with dog fighting - the NBA's Qyntel Woods pleaded guilty in January 2005 to animal abuse and former NFL player LeShon Johnson has faced charges - but he is certainly the highest profile.
Vick was once the face of the Atlanta Falcons, a brilliant if sometimes erratic quarterback who was rewarded with a $130 million contract a few years back. Now he's the face of another so-called sport, where dogs are groomed to fight to the death and the ones who don't perform are put to death.
His endorsements are gone, and his career is almost certainly over. Millions of people who have never met him hate him, and now even his posse is deserting him.
He's cornered in a pit of his own making, with no escape in sight.
Like the dogs found on his estate, he doesn't have much fight left.
Purnell Peace is scheduled to appear in federal court in Richmond, Va., on Thursday, followed by Quanis Phillips on Friday. Their plea bargains come after another of the four co-defendants, Tony Taylor, pleaded guilty last month to his role in the dogfighting case and agreed to fully cooperate with the government in its prosecution.
The pleas by Peace and Phillips will leave Vick as the lone defendant standing trial on Nov. 26, unless he also accepts a plea bargain. Last night, ESPN reported that Vick's attorneys, Larry Woodward and Billy Martin, met with federal prosecutor Michael Gill and the investigators yesterday afternoon.
The report said the attorneys planned to speak to Vick last night and that he has until Friday to decide whether to accept a plea bargain, otherwise a superceding indictment will be filed with at least two more federal dogfighting charges.
Collins R. Spencer III, a spokesman for Vick's defense team, said the lawyers were surprised by yesterday's plea agreement developments. "They didn't see it coming," Spencer told The Associated Press.
If Vick accepts a plea bargain admitting guilt in the case, that virtually guarantees Goodell will sit him down for the season. If Vick decides to proceed with the case, Goodell is expected to suspend him for the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Just goes to show how quickly one goes from here to zero and even your so called friends quickly run to save thier own skin. I personally think all of them involved deserve one another.
Falcons quarterback Michael Vick spent much of yesterday meeting with his attorneys, as time was running out on whether he will accept a plea arrangement from prosecutors in the federal dogfighting conspiracy case. But he will not get advance notice from the NFL about how a guilty plea would affect the length of a suspension, the Daily News has learned.
The league is adamant that it will not make a deal with Vick. There will be no negotiations. The Falcons quarterback must decide whether to accept a plea arrangement without knowing what effect it will have on his career, according to a source who asked not to be identified.
The News has also learned that the suspension handed down by commissioner Roger Goodell could be for more than one season and would not necessarily run concurrently with any jail time Vick would be forced to serve as part of his plea arrangement. It has been reported that Vick would be sentenced to no more than one year in jail if he pleads guilty.
"The defense and Michael are meeting," said Collins R. Spencer III, a spokesman for Vick's five lawyers.
Some of those involved were taking part in the meeting by telephone. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that Vick will most likely agree to a plea deal this week, joining his three codefendants who are scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Richmond tomorrow.
Tomorrow is also the day federal prosecutors have set as a deadline for Vick to decide whether to accept a plea deal. If not, a "superseding" indictment will be filed containing additional charges against Vick. Those charges likely include racketeering, among other possible charges. A federal grand jury in Richmond will begin hearing the new charges on Monday if Vick doesn't agree to a plea.
He deserves far more than 1 year... i'm willing to conceed on the pathetic fine that could be imposed, his lost endorsements more than make up for that.

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Humane Society said they are receiving donations from across the country -- and you’ll never guess what people are sending.
More than a dozen Michael Vick jerseys have been sent to AHS, and they are putting them to good use.
“When I first saw them, I was kind of shocked. I was like, ‘Why do they have Vick jerseys here,’ said Julie Sentner.
Vick is innocent until proven guilty, but his association when men pleading guilty to federal dog fighting charges makes the number 7 jersey an unexpected find at the Atlanta Humane Society.
“At first we were like, ‘I wonder what we’re going to use this for,” said P.J. Smith with AHS.
And the jerseys kept coming. About a dozen or so jerseys were sent from people wanting to make good from a bad situation. In fact, the Humane Society is getting flooded with e-mails about Vick.
So what are volunteers doing with the jerseys?
“We discovered like any donation we get, any shirt or towel, we put it to good use here at Atlanta Humane Society. We’re always using things to clean kennels, use for bedding and stuff like that,” said Smith.
Did she say cleaning kennels?

(CNN) -- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has accepted a plea deal that could send him to prison, ending a federal dogfighting prosecution that jeopardizes his pro football career, a Virginia newspaper is reporting.
Vick will plead guilty to felony conspiracy next Monday, defense attorney Lawrence Woodward told the Virginian-Pilot, of Norfolk, Virginia.
The newspaper reports that the plea will help Vick avoid additional federal charges.
"Mike's accepting full responsibility," Woodward told the newspaper. "He's going to do everything he can personally and professionally to make this situation right."
Federal prosecutors had offered a deal recommending an 18- to 36-month prison sentence. Vick's attorneys were trying to reduce that to less than a year, two sources told CNN on Monday.
It was not immediately clear whether Vick's attorneys have heard back M
Vick's three codefendants in the dogfighting case have accepted agreements to plead guilty in exchange for reduced sentences.
If Vick doesn't accept a deal, he could face additional charges in the case on Monday, when a grand jury convenes in Richmond, Virginia.
The NFL is considering what, if any, sanctions they should impose on the 27-year-old suspended Atlanta Falcons player.
Court documents released last week showed that two of Vick's alleged partners said he helped kill dogs that didn't fight well, and that all three men "executed approximately eight dogs" in ways that included hanging and drowning.
The dogs were killed because they fared poorly in "testing" sessions in April at Vick's property in Virginia where the dogfighting venture was based, according to documents released following plea agreement hearings Friday for Purnell Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach, and Quanis Phillips, 28, of Atlanta.
A third man, Tony Taylor, 34, of Hampton, Virginia, already had his plea deal approved.
In the court documents, Peace and Phillips said that the money behind the Bad Newz Kennels dogfighting operation came "almost exclusively" from Vick, and they told prosecutors that other accusations in the 18-page indictment are true.

Virginia State prosecutors are talking about filing separate animal cruelty charges, beyond the Federal charges.
