The whole pants hanging to your knees and baggy boxers pulled up to the armpits, while incredibly funny looking (and even funnier when you know the origin) is now illegal in parts of Louisiana.
That’s Police Chief Don English’s interpretation of a new law that takes effect in Mansfield on Sept. 15
Anyone caught wearing sagging pants who exposes his or her underwear will be subject to a fine of up to $150 plus court costs, or face up to 15 days in jail.
Mansfield aldermen voted unanimously at today’s 4:30 p.m. meeting to enact the new law.
The law makes it illegal to found in a “state of nudity, or partial nudity, or in any indecent exposure of his or her person or undergarments, or be guilty of any indecent or lewd behavior.”
City attorney Richard Z. Johnson Jr. said he used a similar law in Delcambre as a guideline in creating Mansfield’s ordinance. Several municipalities and parish governments in Louisiana have enacted similar laws in recent months.
I'm waiting for the eventual first amemendment challenge to this, but it is still funny... wait would this also get the girls with their thongs pulled high?
Someone has to be able to see reason...

Seems not only big gov't wants to regulate our lives but also towns and cities want to get into the act. Though I am not particularly fond of the style, every generation makes their own fashion statement and I don't see what the big deal is that they have to criminalize clothing and how it is worn. With that said, wear what you want but if you come into to my house, you have to pull your pants up or leave. Just ask my sons and their friends. More than once have I told kids they are always welcome in my house but I considered it disrespectful to me and my wife for them to be showing their underwear while in my home.
I've made it clear to my kids and their freinds... they and their friends pull their pants up and if they MUST wear hats, they point forward. If not, go away.
Most are just trying to front an attitude or style... In my house, they will front a different style... one of a respectful person visiting someone else's home.

That's against everything I stand for! I think we should all be allowed to appear completely nude in public, if we want. I dream of a world where I can hang out in the public square, my junk whistling in the breeze...

I'm glad I don't know what you look like.....I'm not sure I could get those images out of my head.
A sad statement on the education system when the kids can't read the labels on the clothes and get the right size, or do a belt up Then again be thankful they're wearing underwear

Looks like Georgia is piling on as well... Looks like they may ban bras altogether.

Baggy pants that show boxer shorts or thongs would be illegal under a proposed amendment to Atlanta's indecency laws.
The amendment, sponsored by city councilman C.T. Martin, states that sagging pants are an "epidemic" that is becoming a "major concern" around the country.
"Little children see it and want to adopt it, thinking it's the in thing," Martin said Wednesday. "I don't want young people thinking that half-dressing is the way to go. I want them to think about their future."
The proposed ordinance would also bar women from showing the strap of a thong beneath their pants. They would also be prohibited from wearing jogging bras in public or show a bra strap, said Debbie Seagraves, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia.
The proposed ordinance states that "the indecent exposure of his or her undergarments" would be unlawful in a public place. It would go in the same portion of the city code that outlaws sex in public and the exposure or fondling of genitals.
The penalty would be a fine in an amount to be determined, Martin said.
