forget about it...

vixy or google 'online video converter'.

you can just put the url of whatever video and than convert it to whatever format you want.

I've tried a couple and the quality has been great.

I have used wimpy flv player before, and it works great. It is freeware, and not bloatware by any means. It only plays flvs though, and it works on pcs or macs.

To download flvs, i use the VideoDownloader extension for firefox. All u have to do is doubleclick the little icon that it places down by the bottom right, near the clock, and it brings up a window with a download link for the current page ur on. It works with many flash based video sites, and i love the convenience.

I don't know, I've never done it from a pda. It could be possible if you find a place that'll email you the file that you told it to convert, just tell the site the url, video settings, and leave your email and it'll do all that for you. I used to have one bookmarked but I lost it to a harddrive malfunction.

Just use mobytube to download flvs from youtube, googlevideo, etc and then u can play them in tcpmp with the flv plugin. And u can even stream them.
