Of all the sites available on the Internet, which one did you become a member first?

Mine was Aximsite Yeah! but I am a member of many others since. What about you? I will post stats of this as we go along.

I think mine was New York City (NYC) Subway, Transit info, Rider Advocacy 's Rider Diaries.. Maybe.. I honestly don't remember. But if you ask me when I started surfing, that would be 1997, with AOL 2.5 or whatever the version then was. :) It is not that old, but old enough.

I'm embarrased to say that my first site was AOL around 1995. I thought AOL was the internet.

Wow - where should I start. At the beginning

ARPANET - I worked for a defense contractor in the 80s.

My first ISP - NETCOM (1989).
(386SX computer with DOS)
First WWW site (We called it W3 back then) & membership - AOL.com
(Used a 486 computer with Windows 3.1)
First forum group - alt.com

Does this bring back any memories for anyone?

Ps - Yeah - I'm old. I've been working with computers since 1969. :approve:

CompuServe sometime around 1983 or 1984. After that, not counting a couple work bulletin Boards, it would be Aximsite in 2005.

I was a member of CompuServe just about as far back as it went - sometime in the early 80's - it's so long ago I don't remember any more. That was LONG before there was a WWW or Windows. Strictly dial-up, account numbers like [12345,3456]. I seriously had fun on there.

Then, Compuserve, AT&T, Comcast broadband today.

I did like the bulletin boards, simple, paging............paging..........SYSOP.
