I was born 50 years ago today. As a young boy I was in the scouts and really, really enjoyed reading. As a teenager I was into all kinds of Audio Visual stuff but thought computers were a passing fad and would never make it into the home. With the birth of the Mosaic browser and the World Wide Web I discovered the internet and got hooked on computers. I didn't get my first personal computer until 1995. I got into computer pinball, racing, and 1st person shooters along with a return to my teenage love affair with Audio Visual stuff but unlike then I was hooked on all things digital. The birth of the MP3 was a major turning point for me. Pocket PCs came into my life in 2000 and I haven't looked back since.
Geekiness is eternal. Don't fight it, DON'T PANIC! It will all turn out well in the end.

I was thinking on the train yesterday that even the amount of progress we've seen in the last 10 years has been quite spectacular, and it seems that things are speeding up. Can't wait to see what cool toys we have 10 years from now.

Happy Birthday! When I was 14 the music video "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits came out with, at the time, awesome computer animation. I told my friends that one day video games would look like that, they didn't believe me. Now there here and even better.
