Dangit it's cold; I had to wear my flannel shirt almost all day, and needed a hat and gloves this morning.

I, fortunately, never actually owned an 8-track - at least I don't remember buying one. 8-track being a capstan-driven tape system was not particularly reliable. Cassettes were becoming popular when I was in my early teens (70's). We did have a big reel-to-reel tape deck at the stereo. At that time, a reel deck was the top-end as far as sound fidelity was concerned; that and 33 rpm vinyl.
