Is it time for this idea, refurb-ing 4705's and axims

I had been looking at advantages on ebay, I have been lusting and wondering when the shift was actually going to show up...

But I won a global sat 359 on ebay last night.... now i need a software package, but it will come... now if I can get a 32G cf card for $50, last time I looked at christmas 4 G cards where in that neighborhood boy they are dropping fast, if I do the PPCT memory upgrade, I am still on 2003, but wm5 is available to me...

My point, if PPCT would offer to glue my navi pad back down, do the memory upgrade, install wm5 and generally check it out to make sure it will run for another 2 years or so...
I would have no real need to get an advantage.

With a little help a 4705 or a ax could be a real threat to the PDA aspect of anything on the market today.

depends on how much that is all going to cost. the new 210 has been shipped finally! so weigh up the difference in cost between the two. i personally find the nav pad to be totally useless. the corners have curled and it just doesnt work for me.so the d pad on the 210 is a plus as well as the newer processor it has better battery controland onboard hardware video decoding... still 624 MHz and 4" VGA screen. built in WM6... so no hacked roms....i would like one myself but i too am sticking with the 4700 for now... but i am thinking of this..

The 4700 series actually seems to have a good Linux port, but it doesn't work on the X51v. Since the hardware is fairly close, I'm surprised no one has tried to get the 4700 linux on the Axim and maybe eventually the 210.
