Thanks Technochic, and welcome to the site. I see that's your first post. You're off to a good start. I actually have 2 sets of tickets now b/c after I got the first set, my wife pointed out it's the day we're celebrating her 40th birthday. She wasn't too pissed! So I bought another set, then she said we can celebrate her birthday the next week. Huh! So who knows, I might see them twice.
Your welcome - and thanks for the welcome. I've actually been "lurking" here for a while, but never really posted. Actually my husband has been a regular for a long time (you'll never guess who) and mentioned that I should check this site out. I used to do tech support, Q/A, tech writing, training, etc. for about 10 years (was a regular on the C|Net support chat site for a while too-when they started) but that was over 6 years ago. I am just starting to try to dip my toes back into the techie pool - though once a geek, always a geek, yeah?
P.S. One of the Rush concert I saw had a VERY IMPRESSIVE lazer show and Neil Pert had a contraption where there was a metal structure built like a globe that had his drum set built inside, all around. Then he got inside and sat on a spinning seat and still hit every note perfectly!! No stage presence my butt!! (LOL)

Wendy, thanks for the warm welcome... I've been a geek my whole life (started taking computer classes when I was in grade school on Apples!) and became a professional techie when there were VERY FEW women in our field. It can be pretty frustrating...
Steve... what? NO guesses?!?!

I saw Rush at Sarstock in Toronto. They were not bad. Rush, AC/DC and Rolling Stones were the big names and IMHO AC/DC blew Rush and the Stones off stage.
Still - I was surprised with Rush. I knew more of their stuff than I thought. It'll be a good show I'm sure.

Nice try... but no dice.
Ya know, this could be fun. heh heh heh (jk)
I know J but I'm not saying....
But it's nice to see you here, and 'Someone' should make sure you have a shiny new tech toy to play with

Psion... someone was paying attention!! :approve: (Leave it to the Editor, right?)
Actually, I have trouble posting/replying sometimes as my poor, old PC doesn't play nice with our network and sometimes gets cranky on me. Not to mention that I have to share it with the 6-Y-O... and, believe me, it's a show down sometimes!
Hopefully soon my hubby will be done with moving into his new latop and finish vacating his old one so I can fianally have a laptop that doesn't have a dead battery and is actually from this era!!
P.S. let me know if you find someone who needs a proofreader (hint, hint Steve!!)

Anyway, your secret identity is safe with me. I'll just enjoy sitting here feeling smug as Steve hasn't got there yet
(I'm busy sharing a desktop with a 1 year old at the moment, and she wants to watch OUR favourite band, They Might Be Giants, on their friday night podcast for kids :D )

Not to worry, just something fun to keep me even having an identy (other than so-and-so's wife or mom)
Good that you are getting her interested early. :approve: My son loves the computer - we have plenty of educaitonal games that he really likes. Also, when he was 2-3 he showed the (6 month older) boy next door how to work the computer... of course he also taught him how to spell his own name!!! Ben
HEY!! We like They Might Be Giants too!!! (Actually I've liked them for a long time, way before I became a mom) We listen to "Here Come The ABCs" when we are in the car (sing along too )
Where are the podcasts?

Hard to give a hint without giving it away, but I could say that he is one of the Authors. That should narrow it down quite a lot!!
Actually, my husband didn't want me to mention him so that I can "build a reputation for myself"... but the reality is that I'm not trying to compete with y'all. I have skills that most of you don't (back to the proofreading reference) and my tech support skills are out of date (by 6 years - a lifetime in the tech-verse). I'm sure I'll catch up though, once I can tweek (and install all the dang programs onto) my new-to-me laptop. **sigh** I also have to figure out where the heck the install programs, wepkey and other install info is on our network. UGH
Maybe if I bat my eyelashes at my husband, and bake him something spectacular, he'll do that for me? ;)
