So I'm finally getting an X51v

I'm taking advantage of the Geeks.Com refurb offer and I'm wondering what to do with my X50v. I've put my X50v Ax through a lot of use so there are smudges on the screen where the most frequently used SIP letters are and there are a few dents and dings on the casing. Should I sell it for parts or keep it for experiments? What do you folks think? If I sell it how much should I ask? Keep in mind I'd be shipping it without a battery, syncing stand, documentation or case.

I've kept mine as a backup and have had to use it a couple of times, X50v is still very reliable.

Take Care,

keep it for sure. even if you only use it for gps. it saves having the software on your new device. im looking for a cheap second device to use for GPS in the car so i can use my 4700 for other things like mp3s etc ........

I think the idea of a 'single use' pda is a neat idea.

Alot of people talk about media controllers for audio files. Like a remote control. GPS sounds neat, too!

Also, not to jinx the purchase, but, if your x51v were to get acquainted with concrete, or ceramic tile (drop and crack screen in other words), your x50v screen would be a lifesaver.

Keep the x50v. Always nice to have a backup for those times you might need it.

I like the GPS, in the auto mount! And, it'll be there if you forget the x51 or, ugh, misplace it or lose it.

I've thought about getting a second AX as a backup myself. I keep my files and programs on the CF & SD cards. But, if my AX dies then I'd have to rush out and pickup a used one.

So, If I were you, I'd keep the old one. :approve:

Well this reads like a concensus to me. I'm going to keep the X50v as a gaming machine and look into the remote control options.

there are some good remote software out there . i had a ipaq 2210 that had nevo on it . i think this is the best software. i had it setup so with 1 press of a button it turned on everything tv,dvd, video, surround sound, and cable. plus it was fun changing channels at the doctors or in the stores...lol very customisable.
