I inadvertantly wiped out my son's G5 desktop... including around 5000 songs in his itunes. His ipod

obviously now contains all these songs and if he connects to his now empty itunes all will be lost.
Mac said there is "un supported software available that will solve this problem.
Any suggestions as to which one is the best to solve this issue so I can at least have the songs bac?

Wiping out the desktop...meaning the desktop (appears on the screen) or the actual desktop PC?
If the actual iTunes folder is gone, then there is no way to get it back unless you have the ability to access the hard drives deleted files (they aren't really "gone" unless the drive was formatted.)
Most PC shops can get lost data back for a fee.
Does the G5 have a restore fuction like a Windows PC does???

I am interested what others suggest so I can maybe learn something new :)
