Authors? What are those? Are they those people who write those "book" thingys? Actually, most of what I've read lately has been technical books Cisco, Access, Java, etc. But I guess my favorite authors would be (in no particular order):

I like lots of authors. John Irving, Robertson Davies, Zadie Smith, Nick Hornby, Michael Chabon, Alan Warner, Duncan McLean, Lorrie Moore, Jhumpa Lahiri, Barbara Kingsolver, Anne Tyler, Irvine Welsh (at least some of his books), Dave Eggers, and, yes, I love JK Rowling, too.
