2. JK Rowling (ya i like harry potter dont laugh)
3. Micheal Chrichton (reading timeline right now-its awesome!)
4. Dave Barry (funniest author around)
5. JRR Tolkien (cant 4get the classics!)

Authors? What are those? Are they those people who write those "book" thingys? Actually, most of what I've read lately has been technical books Cisco, Access, Java, etc. But I guess my favorite authors would be (in no particular order):
Stephen King
Anne Rice
Sean Hannity
Piers Anthony

so many of my favorite authors have already been named..

Tolkien.. read almost every book he wrote
Cussler (YES! One more Pitt fan)
Terry Brooks (I also read the Shannara series)
Rowlings (Her books are great for all ages)
S. King (Some of his stuff is REEEALLY good)

I like lots of authors. John Irving, Robertson Davies, Zadie Smith, Nick Hornby, Michael Chabon, Alan Warner, Duncan McLean, Lorrie Moore, Jhumpa Lahiri, Barbara Kingsolver, Anne Tyler, Irvine Welsh (at least some of his books), Dave Eggers, and, yes, I love JK Rowling, too.
