My daughter is 10 and we promised her a cell phone for the holidays. It has to be an AT&T phone and the only real requirements are that it has a camera and the ability to text. I have no idea what to get her and I appreciate any help.

I would prefer that it has a keyboard for texting and I want it to be as inexpensive as possible, otherwise we'll have to feed her Oodles of Noodles at all her meals.

I don't care what OS it has. It needs to be fairly easy to use.

for a 10 y/o... try a firefly for a while... it has no happy features beyond its restriction of calling or receiveing calls from preprogrammed numbers.

if you want it for texting, I suggest buying a phone from ebay or such as you have to deal with the very real likelihood that she will lose/break it (or have other kids steal it from her).

You may be blessed with a child that understants property rights and values, but her peers most likely do not.

Thanks for the feedback. If I buy one on ebay, any idea what kind to get? Is a Nokia good that has a keyboard? Or should I try a different OS?
