I've searched online a bit, but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I have an older samsung that I'm looking to upgrade. I am looking to spend $300 or less.

I asasume you mean camera and not a camcorder. If so, I personally like the Kodak Easy Share line. I've had three and bought two as gifts. All are still going strong. :approve:

Unfortunately, so much depends on the features you're looking for.

I have a great Canon S2 IS that works brilliantly. The current model SX10 IS is even more powerful, as is the compact SX110 IS. The G10 has even more functions, or the A1000 or A2000 are available as more point-and-shoot.

It is a little more expensive, but the specs on the new Canon powershot SX 1 IS are amazing: CMOS sensor, HD video recording, and 20x zoom....wow

I have used Olympus (lasted less that 1 year) this is my second Canon. Technology changes for he scond one. original still works 6 years later. Iworked for Kodak. Forget it
