Help with Inspiron e1505

My inspiron doesn't inspire confidence. It's only a couple years old and the battery is 100% dead. The last time I bought a laptop battery I got a generic one. It was ok but the computer kept reminding me it wasn't purchased from the oem, which was annoying. Anyway, anybody have any recommendations on what and where I should replace my battery?
Thanks

Straight from Dell. Dell batteries seem to be ok. Maybe you got a slightly less than avg quality one.

My I6K battery has been goign strong for years now. My tablet's battery is already going bad after a year of ownership.

The Dell battery is $170 or so, but there are batts on ebay for $60. What's the deal? Are they good?

Ebay sucks. Most of the stuff is probably just cheap counterfeits. the Dell one is probably higher quality.

The old inspiron e1505 batteries were recalled a while back also can lose charge fast but the majority are excellent batteries. Also they make a battery that holds charge longer. I think its 9 hours versus 3-5. I'd definitely look at those.

I appreciate the feedback, but I don't want to spend $170 on a battery if I can get one for $50. I've bought ebay batteries for my pdas that were good, so I'm leaning that way. I'm interested to know if anyone bought generic ebay batteries or batteries other than Dell's for their opinion. I have to say that the e1505 is a cheaply made piece of doody, so that's one big reason I don't want to buy from them.
