I received my slotMusic player today. It comes with a 1gb microsd card, a small usb microsd reader, earbuds, a AAA battery and of course the player.

The 1gb microsd card had around 100MB filled with music. It was encoded at 256kbps according to WMP. But, it was music that i didnt like and i wanted to see if i could remove it. I could! Now i have a 1gb microsd card empty. I put my own mp3s on it and they work just fine.

The player is the same size as my old Creative Muvo, but the slotMusic player weights alot more. It feels very sturdy though. The player only has basic functions, a play/pause button, a skip forward and backward button, and volume controls. The play/pause button is also the power button when held in long enough.
The usb to microsd adapter is very small and i will probably lose it. But, i have other microsd adapters lying around.

The sound quality on this thing is great. Considering there is no audio equalizer, the default setup sounds great. I'd say better than my old Sandisk player and about the same as my Creative Muvo as far as sound.

Positives:
- Free 1gb microsd
- Earbuds/Usb adapter included
- Player feels sturdy
- AAA battery (i like these kind of players)
- MicroSDHC support!

Cons:
- No screen
- Kinda heavy

I plan to use this as a car MP3 player. Since it has no screen i dont have to worry about potentially damaging it due to the varying temps in a car. It also takes AAA batteries which is great, because i can buy Energizer lithium batteries which work from -40F to 140F. With its simple controls and power indicator LED, this will be perfect in the car! I wont have to take my eyes of the road hardly ever to switch a song. I can also put a huge card in this thing, since Sandisk reports that it supports microsdhc.
