suggestion, the video card is HDCP ready, so pick up a BluRay dvd (player and/or burner)
get a BT keyboard/mouse Newegg.com - Logitech diNovo Edge 2-Tone 84 Normal Keys 9 Function Keys USB Bluetooth Wireless Mini Keyboard - Keyboards
perhaps a game controller Newegg.com - Logitech 963326-0403 Cordless RumblePad 2 USB - PC Game Controllers

Then connect it to a big screen TV and throw away/sell the playstation and DVD player

Blue-ray is definitely over-rated. My NetFlix DVDs work great on my montior or my 52" HDTV...

I'm a hardcore PC gamer. As one, I have had bad experiences with wireless keyboard and mice (Lag and glitches). I prefer my trusty old G5 (wired) and Sidewinder X6 (wired yet again).

Already have a wireless adapter for my Xbox 360 controller to my PC.

Thank you for your suggestions, Rad.

that is why I specified bluetooth kbd & mouse... I game on mine all the time

DVDs are fine, but the resolution that you get on a great HD or BluRay is outstanding. and a reader is about $100 and burner is about $250-300

and I can always come up with something that can go on a 50gb bluray dvd

The main problem is battery. I had one die on me while playing and the hassle of finding batteries are extreme. But that's a personal preference.

Maybe I will think about investing in BluRay. The prices are 0.o...

I have an i7, with close to the same config you have there.

One thing to remember is that a regular 7200RPM HDD is just too slow for the i7, at least in my case. My single HDD is the massive bottle neck in my build. I have been kicking myself for not just ordering a bunch of 80GB HDDs and RAID0ing them.

I figure I'll wait until SSDs are more reliable and mainstream, and buy a few for RAID0.

Interesting. I guess a Velociraptor or SSD is my next upgrade.

Nice choices, dont worry about the HDDs...a good 7200RPM drive is very quick these days.

Those are both good choices if you do want to upgrade in the future. Dont mess with RAID0, the gains are just not that big over a good fast drive.

ABF, raiding a bunch of 80gb drives in RAID0 would probably be slower or just equal to a good fast drive like one of the 640gb 7200RPMs anyways. All drives are not created equal, even with the same RPM and Cache sizes. Platter configuration and the controller in the drive itself can make a big difference in speed too.

The main thing a slow drive will bottleneck is load times, besides that it will not hamper gaming performance or anything like that as they load into memory.

Thanks for the advice.

Both my 500GB and 80GB are Black editions (Which I believe are 7200RPM). Only my backup 750GB is Green version, which is variable speed (Stays around 5400RPM).

The Black Editions are usually good fast drives for their specified RPM. Should be no issue at all and I doubt you would notice much difference in most things unless you went up to an SSD or Velociraptor, and still the difference is minimal.

Just ordered everything.

I received a $500 Amazon gift certificate for a contest I won. So I ordered some items on Amazon. Unfortunately, the horribly slow processing is something I have to deal with.

Bought the rest from Newegg.

Realized the P6T (Vanilla) motherboard does not support DDR3 1600 speed RAM, so I bought a DDR3 1333 set from Corsair.

Will post pictures once built, maybe in mid-August...
