Holy crap. More forum spam. Best choice is IP ban and I thought the 30 second rule was still in effect... Must be a bot or a really persistent (stupid) spammer.

Somebody has a lot of deleting work to do...

Yeah, the spamming problem has really gotten bad. We have people on here who just says one liner sentences, and then have links to 'topnewsblog' in their sig. I report these posts all the time, and when I look back, they are never deleted.

EDIT: Someone should really code a module to simply auto ban people who use certain 'trigger' words (like topnewsblog, or whatever it is) more than a certain number of times. That might help clear the issue up too.

On a serious note, it is too bad that we have spammers around. They make the mods jobs that much harder. But they do a great job keeping us clean.

I've reported spam to Breley who acts very prompt.

I think many people don't realise how much spam Julie, Breley and the rest of the Mods get rid of.
Mostly it is removed so fast nobody notices.

I am still amazed by how many people actually view spam posts rather than just ignoring them or reporting them.

Look again, I've deleted many of those posts and even banned a few folks.

Today, that one spammer really posted a lot of junk, but I honestly think the overall spam on the forum has gone down considerably lately. You'd be surprised the amount of spam that I used to delete that no-one ever saw ! There used to be quite a bit of pornospam, but I haven't seen any of that stuff in a long time (thank goodness! some of it was pretty bad stuff).

Perhaps it seems there's more spam because legitimate posting is down.

Thanks Zaniax and Box (and everyone else). This is a recurring problem and we do our best to patrol the forums to ferret out violators. I tend to be less forgiving on the spam front...if I see what seems to be spam and I find an identical post or posts on other sites (thanks Google!), then (excuse my poor Latin...it's been about 20+years) Ite, Maledicti Spammeri, in Killfilem Aeternum.

NB: The Queens we use would not excite you...
