RANT: My EFFING gamecube!!

ok
so recently, i purchased and starting devoting lots of time to zelda twilight princess for gamecube. im huge into zelda, and im loving this game untill.

gamecube error occured: please consult your instruction manual and turn off your effing broke ass device.

so i turned it off, thinking it was dust on the disk. take the disk out. pristine. inside the drive. pristine...

turn it back on, and of course i just lost like 40 minutes of progress, so i get back to where i left of and SAVE. not 2 minutes later it freakin crashes again. same message.

needless to say, ive been saving after every little achievement, and sure enough, it crashes about every ten minutes with this damn message.

a used gamecube is $60 at the local ebgames, and im seriously considering a durability/gravity check with this thing from the roof of my building tomorrow!

never has a quest to save the freaking princess been such an eternal pain in the ass...

hopefully ill get this sorted and soon

EFF!

Ahh, thank god I don't have this problem. I took my cousin's GC away from him a few months ago, and played Zelda The Windwaker for the first time after many years (the only other Zelda title I played was the Awakening on GB) and I was blown away. I was hooked on it, playing hours and hours, a few nights 6 hours straight. I could not believe, I was like my cousin, whom I was making fun of and teasing because his ass was glued to his chair and started growing mold due to non-activity and lack of air, because he played WoW all day long. I knew what it was all about.. Finally I finished the game. But it was not enough for me. I grabbed Zelda T.P. last weekend at Costco for $43 and started playing again. I just stopped now (12:34 after sitting in front of it at 8pm) My wife used to think it was ridiculous, but she started watching me and she liked it too, but she falls a sleep after the first 2-3 hours. :)

Phew..

Did you search the web for that error.. Maybe voltage issue, maybe lint or something stuck in there, maybe the spinner is stuck..

i did, and i really checked and cleaned the whole of the system and i still get the dumb error. the error isnt discussed too much around the web, but the few that ive found seem to point in the direction of a dead or dieing gamecube and to send the thing to nintendo:(

its like $50 for them to look at it before you figure the postage...

i dunno, sucks

Any warranty from the seller?
heck, I'm stuck at U64 as far as the Nintendo family is concerned... unless you consider my Wiimote!

A friend of mine gets an error on his GC now, but I've not had any problems. In the temple at the bottom of the lake now and just received the clawshot.

I love Zelda:TP! It truly is a remarkable game. I would have a difficult time letting go of this one. I am playing it sparingly just to make it last.

Well I'm certainly glad to hear that the end of this story is a happy one.
