Memory failure on the road

Ok so I have a WM2003 ipaq 4705 and I let the battery drain and I think that killed my SD card with all my software in it. What is th best way to prepare and recoup from this while away from a desk top computer. I have extra memory cards. But not everything I have has a cab file.

WOW, an absolute devastating occurrence! Only once did that happen to me (with my 4700 too) and it was an issue. In my case, I was able to access my SD card and some of my software still ran. However, if you cannot see the software on the SD you have an issue ... at least temporarily.

I am assuming that when you finally did power up your iPAQ it was as if you were starting fresh ... nothing was installed, correct? If that is the case, I would soft reset and see if the SD card shows and if there is anything stored on it.

If nothing shows, then you might be out of luck. If that is the case (there is nothing showing) then I would probably remove the SD, hard reset the device, then reinsert the SD and see if anything appears.

Prior to WM5, I always kept an SD in my bag that had a backup of ALL my "must have" programs in case I had an issue. It did save me once!
