So is evolution a fact, or is it some deep, dark conspiracy amongst scientists? Are biologists, geologists and archaeologists conspiring together to make up a story to further their own agenda?
I'll make this poll simple:
Are all current life forms the product of evolution through common descent (yes or no)?
Note that this does not include abiogenesis (theories on the origin of life). Evolution assumes that there is an organism capable of replication to begin with.

Evolution is a fact. Abiogenesis is a chamber pot of lies! Is it possible? Yes. Is it more probable than ID? NO Is it more probable than aliens? No. Evolution IS a Fact. The entire "theory of Evolution" (abiogenesis - life from nothing) is a crap shoot at best.
I tend to stay out of these discussions. I really don't want anyone to end up having someone prejudge me for what might well be a flippant answer on my part. The only reason for posting now is to note that, based on my quick scan of similar poles/threads, it seems like Xyress is having a good time stirring things up.
Not that debate/discussion isn't a good thing, but I don't believe it is the reason Chris set up Aximsite. Poles like this are &^%. People sometimes appear to be more interested in the water trough posts than solving technical issues, like why ActiveSync doesn't work smoothly for a higher percentage of people. OK, that's enuf time at the trough for me.
I appreciate your comments, mastman - maybe I'll go crawl back under my rock now ...

Evolution is a religion, it can not be scientifiacally proven and is not science it is a belief system, the only difference between evolution and creationism (or whatever you want to call it) is that evolution is tax supported. And there is a lot of proof to disprove the theory of evolution.
But if you feel you can scientifically prove that evolution works and happened you can get $250,000 here: http://www.drdino.com/
In the mean time here are a few questions to anwer about evolution:
Where did the space for the universe come from?
Where did matter come from?
Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.)?
How did matter get so perfectly organized?
Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?
When, where, why, and how did life come from non-living matter?
When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself?
With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?
Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kindsince this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival? (Does the individual have a drive to survive, or the species? How do you explain this?)
How can mutations (recombining of the genetic code) create any new, improved varieties? (Recombining English letters will never produce Chinese books.)
Is it possible that similarities in design between different animals prove a common Creator instead of a common ancestor?
Natural selection only works with the genetic information available and tends only to keep a species stable. How would you explain the increasing complexity in the genetic code that must have occurred if evolution were true?
When, where, why, and how did:
Single-celled plants become multi-celled? (Where are the two and three-celled intermediates?)
Single-celled animals evolve?
Fish change to amphibians?
Amphibians change to reptiles?
Reptiles change to birds? (The lungs, bones, eyes, reproductive organs, heart, method of locomotion, body covering, etc., are all very different!)
How did the intermediate forms live?
And what is the first thing you learn in Biology??? That spontaneous generation does not happen.
When, where, why, and how did life come from non-living matter?
This is called abiogenesis and is completely seperate from Evolution. There are theories of how this might have happened, but no proof as of yet. I believe at some point science and religion will once again point to an intelligent designer.
Evolution within a species is an observable fact. Evolution from one species to another (speciation) is also pretty widely accepted, although not quite as established, as it has not been physically observed.
Many of your other questions are valid...but seem a little juvenile. I think you maybe went a little over the top!
Well there are two types of evolution. Micro evolutions is changes within a species (a lab becoming a sheepdog for example). While macro evolution is a pig becoming a cow and this has never been observered or proven as you said.

Well isn't the whole theory of evolution pretty much that humans evolved from rocks?
In other words the big bang happened and eventually humans came about.
I think you have a lot of learning to do, Null. Don't make assumptions about things you don't understand. Please read this site before you build more strawmen.

That, IMHO, is a little simplistic. You are doing as I have done and lumped several theories all together.
Evolution, Macro and Micro, are theories regarding natural progresion of a species and development of all species from a common genetic ancestor.
Abiogenisis is the formation of the "first" life form...or the common ancestor. Not everyone who supports evolution (either Macro, micro or both) also supports all abiogenisis theories.
The creation of the universe is the subject of yet additional theories. Some of which include abiogenisis and others that do not.
You will find many differences of opinion in the field of science, so it is inherently unfair to lump them all together. Similar to the way it is unfair to lump all christians into one mold.
Be inquisitive and ask questions...but do not be so condesending!
