Cool Need Visual Basic Help

I need help from the visual basic programmers out there.

I'm working on a VB.NET application that will read the .lit files in the My Library directory and give you the option of renaming all of the files using the Author and/or Title from inside the ebook.

I would like it tol turn this:

hawthorne[451].lit

into this:

Nathanial Hawthorne - The Scarlet Letter.lit

The only problem I'm having right now is figuring out how to read the Author and Title from inside the ebook.

If someone has any ideas on this I would appreciate it.

Dougster.

Even if you can figure it out in VB 6.0...it might give me a direction.

Thanks.

As far as I can tell no!

BTW...would anyone be interested in this app?
I've actually worked out how to do it.
I don't want to reveal how I did it since as far as I know, I'm the first to do it.

Here's what version 1.0 will do:

* Read in all of the .lit files in a given folder (user browsable)
* Allow user to select and rename the file based on the Title and Author of the file (ex. Rename "Hawthe[1].lit" to "Nathanial Hawthorne - The Scarlet Letter.lit"

Future Versions
* Batch Rename all files in Library
* Search Whole drive for .lit Files
* Add .txt .pdf .htm(l) ebooks

Any other features someone would like to see?

I just started doing this to learn VB.NET and it's turning into a fun project.

One More...

The reason I started this is because I have a whole folder full of .lit files and no way of knowing what ebook they are unless I open them in MS Reader then rename them. This is pretty tedious. I was looking for an easy way to read the header of the ebook and rename it programatically.

Also...just got VB.NET and was looking for a first project to learn it.
So far...it's coming along pretty well.

Thanks,
Dougster.
