I have a Micron PC AMD Athlon 1GHz w/ 256 MB Ram, 40GB Hardrive & WinXP Home Edition and I've had it for a few years. I know the best way to get rid of junk files on your computer is to Reformat your HD, but the process is a pain to Backup and etc.
I do have one program to get rid of junk files off your HD, Ultra WinCleaner 2002, which does a real good job, but their are probably a better program out there. It would be nice to have a program that cleans the junk files and tells you where the big memory hoggers are.
What are the best, or best program to clean junk files off your HD?

Fdisk, by far is the best way to clean that system :)
What I use is Norton Ghost.
What I did was setup my PC with all the basic apps that I use, and then made a copy of the PC using Ghost. Burned the copies onto CD.
Now I can just backup my data and reload with Norton Ghost. Sure, I need to reinstall some new software, but it is a time saver.

I should clarify that the FDISK comment was kinda a joke, since I got an email asking where to get FDISK.
For those of you who do not know, FDISK is the program that setups the partitions on your hard drive. It will basically wipe it completely clean so you can load the OS fresh.

Norton CleanSweep is a pretty popular program for what you're looking to do.

Good one! I usually tell my annoying customers when they have a problem to use the universal recovery program called "FDISK". If you can't tell, I don't like annoying people.... :P

If you just want to clean up try JV 16 Power Tools. It has a great registry cleaner too!

I know some about computers, so whats the big dam deal of not knowing what FDisk was. If you thought my post was annoying then don't respond to the dam post if it's such a problem. What the hell is it with people these days.

Treesize might also help. I use it at work to see which folders are taking up the most space.
