Heh. I guess I should listen to the news more carefully.
And I have never had a flu shot.

Man, I ended up getting my flu shot this past Friday, when I started this thread. I ended up getting sick that very night. Thought I had the flu and it kinda freaked me out. Anyways, after a few days of being sick, I can now say that I didn't have the flu. The shot just weakened my immune system enough to let some other lowly virus get the best of me. So, go out and get your flu shot, but only if you're healthy.

Hey, never gotten a flu shot and have only had the flu once. As far as the flu shot, it's only ever good for past flu strains and it will not help you with the current strain, it just may diminish the severity of it. As for the death tolls projected, these are usually very small children and very elderly people with already compromised immune systems.
One more tidbit to think about - recent studies are showing a very strong link between flu shots and Alzheimer's - this is caused by some of the minerals in the immunization. Just a thought - while you can still have one!

:p
Is there any substantial evidence correlating Alzheimer's to the flu shot or is it just speculation? There's also speculation that some of the childhood immunizations are responsible for the recent upsurge in Autism. Mercury, I believe.

These statistics were quoted to us by a doctor who, in turn, was quoting a couple different studies. Sorry, I don't remember the exact sources/details.
But, I've never been a believer in the flu shot - this just confirmed it for me.

just a thought...if you get the shot and diminsh the severity of it (as you put it), won't you have a better chance of not suffering from something more serious (like death) (?).

Did you read the rest of the reply about Alzheimer's, plus how many people do you know personally that have died from the flu? Now a days you got to be already pretty bad off for the flu to kill you.
