Thinking about upgrading to WM2003

I have had my Axim X5 for about 1 1/2 years now. I mainly use it for my college class load. I have been thinking about upgrading the operating system from 2002 to 2003. Is this a hard task to complete. I look throughout the site for any topics on 2003 and the only item I found was a review of 2003.

The process is fairly simple, so long as you follow all of the instructions provided with your upgrade disk. It does require a bit of time though, so be prepared.

Welcome to aximsite, bhall16!

Upgrading to WM 2003 was a straightforward process for me, and one well worth it in terms of performance and convenience. I'd go for it.

Review for WM2003

As for a review of WM2003, it's great. My PDA broke, so they sent me a refurbished one free of charge with WM2003. The new features include Windows Media Player (It's been upgraded to version 9), a new "Pictures" app (For viewing pics and slideshows), and better support for Wireless Networks. If you just use your PDA for productivity apps, you won't notice much of a difference to be worth upgrading, but if you're a media freak, this is for you.

One last thing i might want to mention is that some of the older apps aren't compatible w/ WM2003 (Off my head i can name Christmas Rush, and Pocket BLinds).

I upgraded without too many problems. Not an essential upgrade, but all in all, a little nicer all around. Make sure you follow the instructions that come on the upgrade disk, though, so you can go back to PPC 2002 if you have any real problems.

Good luck.
