Cool TrueMobile 1180 problems SOLVED!!!!

For all those who have a problem with their Dell TrueMobile 1180 CF telling them that the CF is unrecognizable.....freak no more! Dell sends you a CD with the bad drivers for PPC 2002 & 2003. I went searching for the real company who made the CF (Cuz Dell never makes their own things) and found these drivers for Win CE 400 and it works perfectly.

Drop me a line if it doesn't work!

Here's the link http://www.agere.com/support/drivers...r_sr02-2.3.zip

I am using this card and I have not really had any problems. I have not used the drivers on their CD. I instead downloaded the WM2003 drivers from their website and it works without flaw on my Axim and my iPaq 2215.

I wonder if the drivers you found works any better than the drivers on Dell's website. Nice find!

Yes, the Agere driver works much better than the Dell driver for WM2003.

I was having dropped connection problems caused by Dell's driver always turning on power management. The Agere driver solved this problem.

Some people have complained about range issues with this card and I would bet that the Dell drivers were used. Does the Agere drivers help with range?

@looneeii:

Could you tell me what Agere product that driver is for? That's just in case I need to download this file again, later on. I haven't tried the solution, but I sincerly hope the range increases.

Thank you.

Been running these drivers for a few days and they work fine. The driver defaults to power management = off and maybe that helps with the range a little.

It's basically for the TrueMobile CF card that Dell "makes" but it's really Agere that produces the cards and they work beautifully on my Axim X5 Advanced.

In wm2003, does the dell client utility still work after you've installed the Agere driver?

I installed the agere driver on my X5 - no problems with it at all and I think the range with my TrueMobile is about 20' more
