Isn't firewire much more expensive than USB?

LOL the USB 2.0 model will be a steal at 3k and the Firewire model a modest 5k :)

Fire wire isn't more expensive then USB 2.0. From what I've seen there are a lot more external high capacity devices that use fire wire 400 then USB 2.0, probably becasue a lot of Mac users use fire wire devices.

I have a 60gb La Cie external fire wire drive and it works great.

But the good thing is that a lot of companies are now putting both USB 2 and fire wire outputs/inputs on their devices. La Cie is a good example of this: http://www.lacie.com/

Less than 10 Ounces. Not too heavy for what all it includes. Heck, the Axim X5 is almost 7 ounces if I'm not mistaken.

So who exactly is this thing targeted at? People who want the features of a laptop in a Pocket PC-sized device?

Not even PPC size, it's bigger than an Axim smaller than a laptop.

My guess would be people who aren't looking for something pocket sized but don't want a full blown laptop.

If it were priced better I'd take it in a heart beat.

I would think this would be simed at certain business people who like ot use PC apps but on the go, but don't want to bring a laptop with them, or to people who don't want to have to sync their devices as this device would/could replace their desktop PC (for business purposes).

Alos, since it has built in fire wire and usb, people who work with digital video or people who work with digital video could use this on site as a quick way to dump their video or photos onto their PC. Maybe you could even run Premiere or Photoshop offo f this thing!

I think a device like this will appeal to people who hate syncing a portable device and their PC or to people who want a really small device, but need more power or feature then what a Pocket PC offers.

And too people who have a lot of cash!

Well I just found out that the people behind the OQO use to work for Apple and IBM, so it seems like they might have the ability to put something like this together.
