LOL. But wow. I knew memory prices tend to drop by approx 1/2 in 2 years but 1/10 in about 3 years... granted most people are starting to dumpt CF in favor of other technoloigies but prices now are very good.

Some technologies really make sense, like solid state persistent storage.
I look forward to the new car stereos coming out next year that will accept storage flash (SD, USB) directly in the faceplate, making them solid state as well.
You'ld be surprised how many things I pass over though.

C'mon guys - my first mass storage device was a Shugart single density, single sided, hard sectored 5.25 floppy drive that held a WHOPPING 70K (formatted)
And it ONLY cost $450 :approve:
But man, did it ever beat out paper tape and cassettes !!
Yeah, my cards where $10 cheaper two weeks after I got them!
I guess the best way to keep from driving yourself nuts here is to just realize that when you bought the item you paid for it what you agreed that it was worth and just accept it on those merits. For example, I bought a 256MB SanDisk Cruzer Mini about a year ago for about $65. Now you can get a 256 for, what ... $20? I use the thing all the time. Rather than being frustrated that it's gotten cheaper I just keep in mind that it was worth the $60 to get it when I needed it - and the fact that it's cheaper doesn't change its size or the fact that it still does the job just as well as it did last year. I still don't fill the thing up, so I don't need to replace it. It's all a matter of perspective.
It is, of course, nice to know that should I need to replace it I can get the same thing much cheaper now - or get more for the same $$.
