Question Dell Notebook Forum?

Hi-

I am starting to get serious about buying a laptop for college and was wondering if anyone knows of any Dell Notebook forums out there kinda like this one? This site has been a huge help and very informational and I was just wondering if there is something else out there for laptops. Thanks!

You know what I have been searching for the same thing, since I just recently purchased a Inspiron 8600, and have come up with nothing. Aside from the Dell Forum Community within the www.dell.com site, i have not encountered a site simiar to aximsite that is very informational. Although the Dell Forum is ok, members there get to be cranky to noob questions, i noticed. :D

Yeah, everything I have found seems to be either not updated enough or just bad. I have also heard and experienced posts dissapearing from the dell forums due to dell moderators deleting them (or so members say)

hm... this might be another forum site idea for Chris to start a site about... I'm sure he has unlimited free time to devote to these things ;)

i think that's a good idea, among us axim owners i think there is already a core group of inspiron owners enough to support such a site. something along the lines of aximsite that will be friendly and encourage the free exchange of ideas on our toys. :hide:

I would start one if only I had the time. So far after 3 days of searching I have yet to find a quality site out there with anything close to this site in terms of dedication, knowledge, activity or anything. Hey, who knows- maybe Chris is already thinking about it. I know I would be one of the first to join.

8600 owner here too. All I've ever found are the dell forums. Sadly those aren't too useful most of the time. You'd think a forum run by Dell would be more active with Dell reps... Not the case most of the time

I can set up a forum (Invisionboard) with its basic portal but thats as far as I can go right now .. I don't have the time to do a full blown site ..

Space isn't a problem .. I have ~45gig space and ~500gig month transfer free on my server that I'm not using right now ..

Basically it would be something like this that I use for our gaming clan site like we have here:

Also, IBM forums are even in less supply than dell ones. I am looking into a comparable IBM model and I can't find anything decent. I would be willing to help you out if you wanted, but I am lacking in time as well...

I think the biggest area I'd need help in getting it started is going to be making a logo, getting the colors right and making sure the buttons match ..

Setting the forum up itself is going to be easy .. I could have that done today or tomorrow .. I have the domain name and its going thru the process of propigating thru the net right now so some places it already works and the others should work within a day or so ..

The domain will be:
http://www.dellnotebooks.us
