I orderd my Package in December and despite contacting Dell 6 or 7 times have had no response from them. The x5 arrived early January but the GPS is impossible to track or get any answer from Dell.

I'm in UK and thinking of contacting my credit card company.

Hazzaman - just received a call from Dell that delivery will now be by 4/3/04. Annoying yes, but at least they phoned me this time. The people I'm now dealing with seem to be trying. Thank heavens they were found.

Willo - tough call with trading standards because they are within their right to charge you for the X5 if you've used it, and lets be honest, I for one started playing with it not knowing this would unfold. But progress is happening now to say the least.

Henry 123 - Seems you're on the same delivery timeline as me. Make sure they have raised a new order number on the new part number, the problem that is occurring (has happened twice to me) is that old obsolete part numbers are being raised and you only find out much later when you chase it. You then become victim to the backlog and start all over again.

I sent him an e-mail last week and he said that he would look into it and give me a call back. Still havent heard from him.

Hi,

Sanjay passed my information onto the Call Center Manager who has finally sorted it out, i have also been told to expect delivery on 4/3 which is great, hope this is the end of the problems for everyone!

Citylink have just tried to deliver something but I was out!!! Will collect it from their depot later.

I'm getting all excited now.

(Dell aren't so bad really are they. Maybe we've been a bit harsh on them - yeah right!)

Dell have excellent products, thats why i went for the X5 in the first place, at the end of the day it wasn't their fault that it was out of stock, but the lack of communication drives you mad!! If i had a phone call back in december saying that they are having high demand for the GPS part and that they were expecting new units to be dispatched in march then i would have no problem, its just that one person tells you that is was dispatched, and then its not, and then it is again you begin to loose trust, and without customers trust you'll lose out of future purchases. Lets hope they can get mine to me soon.

It is the Tom Tom yes, dead easy to use and maybe down on some features, but at the price, I'm not complaining.

Looking forward to driving into London now!!!!

I have just read the topic.
Happy (...) to see that i'm not the only one. Indeed depending on who you speak with you get a different reply.

Can we alltogether make a letter for Dell to send by mail to all the e-mail addresses we know. I also would like that we contact each other be e-mail to make a kind of big official complain.

A very good idea Arnaud but unfortunately after all the complaining I've already done - they really don't seem to care.

Perhaps Michael Dell himself should be the one we head to.
