Question X3i, FTP server and Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (WRT54G)

Forgive me if I've mis-posted this, but before I blow 75 bucks on a router that may or may not work with the X3i, I'd like to ask the group if there have been any problems with this set up? I would be using WEP and definitely not broadcasting the SSID (Brad1970 reported his X3i not seeing the router even when his SSID was broadcast.)

On a side note, what about running an FTP server from a different room, wirelessly (not through the DMZ port) over this router and through DSL to access files at work or on the road? A good idea? No?

Thanks in advance!

Exclamation Post script

I would be using a static IP rented from Qwest, if that makes a difference...

Well, the router and Axim won't work because the Axim is 802.11b and the router is 802.11g.

It should support mixed mode. It will work.

Question

The advantage of having a wi-fi router version G, is backward compatibility as well as of the incremet of speed and range of transmission. You should not have a problem with your PDA just because is a 802.11b. There is got to be something else. Good luck.
