Kinda unrelated to this website, but I think it might be starting to effect my axim.... Besides, this has become a real head-scratcher! :(

I have a problem whereby I get many popup ads from what I think to be a trojan horse called Backdoor.VB.9.N. Symantec can't find it though AVG did (which says it removed it as well as some other horses) but I can't seem to get rid of the problem. The popup ads even occur when I set my home page to blank and just start IE.

I've also ran adware and spybot which removed some spyware but now it always shows no problems found - though the problem continues.

I even have a nice screen capture of Norton Anti-virus having just completed scanning (showing no infections found) with a dialog box over that window from AVG telling me about a Trojan horse found and to run AVG (which of course I do, but it doesn't find it!!)

And yes, I do have the latest definitions installed...

Any ideas how to get rid of this problem?? Many thanks in advance!!! :)

All you need is a nice little app called cwshredder . That should get rid ot the problem.:D

Also, try updating adaware or spybot, that may help.

Oh yeah, I already tried CWShredder and HijackThis too (just in case). I also already have the latest updates of adaware and spybot as well. :(

Anything else you can think of??

Darn, that stinks. Try dling panda antivirus trial. It is 10 times better than norto/avg imo. And, the trial works great.
