ok, so i am in high school. i have all a's and b's, one high c and a 59 (all average or advanced classes)

this is the worst grade i have ever recieved, the class is french 3 honors

my father said if i fail this semester (which i am inevitable going to do, there are no more assignments) he will take away my axim

let me reitterate, i am in french 3 honors, that is 2 years ahead of what the average foreign language class is at my school, plus its advanced.

i want to switch out, but i cant for a while...

about my axim, i have paid for it in full, and all of the accessorries, with money I HAVE EARNED, as i am only a small number of years away from legal adulthood what property rights am i entitled to?

do you think my fathers threat is justified??? (it is not a dry threat)

i ask this because i know many of you guys are fathers, and you are all smart because you have an axim (my dad has a palm

)

be honest please, is there anything i can do to ease the situation (the grade is pretty much already set into stone, so thats out of the question)

what would you do if you were in my dads situation, and if you could point out any legal sites stating my right to keep my property, then please, send me the link

he doubts i have any actual written rights so much, that if i find them on a trusted site, then he will not do it...

Although I'm not a father yet, I can honestly say that I would likely do something similar.

For instance, you are posting messages on here, and likely searching around the web for legal sites that have information pertaining to this topic..... you could be studying for your French class during this time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure you have plenty of spare time that is not used for studying French.....such as playing games, Aximsite reading/posting, playing with Axim, etc. Although school can be very boring at times, it is definately important to take the responsibility to do everything you possibly can to turn your grade around.

Honestly, I'd probably be taking away a lot more than just your Axim. :)

well i actually except for maybe an hour and a half a day, which includes aximsite posting and tv (not much of a gamer) my regiment has been mostly studying for midterms....

What about your instructor? Is there no chance for extra credit work? How about giving your dad a 'lengthy' French written paper with your justifications for keeping your dell axim written out.... :)

I gotta punish my kids every once in awhile from internet, aim, ps2, gameboys and their pdas.

How is the grade set in stone? I am sure you could do some extra studying and do well on your next tests. Talk to the teacher about what needs to be done to increase your grade, and ask for some extra help.

I would probably do the same, as a mother.

ya, talk to the teacher and to be honest i would do the same as your father, take away your axim and dont do legal stuff with your dad, thats really mean and disrespectful to your father and makes you sound like a brat

What the heck type of semester system are you guys on up there? :p

You say there's no more grades, but all the K-12 schools here just started back to school (Spring semester) a couple weeks ago. And we also started back recently at my University.

its midyear here, report cards are all set into stone except for the class participation, which sould bring up my grade a small bit...

i think i actually did pretty good on my midterm tho....maybe that might sway him, as it is 10% of my yearly grade

its just that, theres plenty of other things he could take away, like my desktop for example, that i use a lot more and that i think would me much more effective

then again, perhaps he is taking away my ax not because of my obsession to it, but he knows that ill be madder cuz i own it....

i do stay after with my french teacher at least once a week, but it doesnt make much of a difference, its not her fault tho
