Mozilla Minimo v0.1 Released
Minimo 0.1 @ Mozilla
For those who have not read the article on PPCT, here is the link to the story and a screenshot.
Mozilla Minimo v0.1 Released
Keep in mind this is for Linux only, not PPC 2002 or WM 2003 so you'll have to wait. ;)

I truely hope this project goes somewhere; although ftxPBrowser isn't bad, it isn't Mozilla.

Why must they make it for linux? WOuldnt a larger population be able to use it if it was for ppc2002? Just seems weird to make it directed at such a specific audience.

Ease of portability for one thing, Linux Desktop to Linux PDA is fairly easy (most of the time all you need to do is re-compile). Keep in mind this is a free project, and as such, they're not getting money based on how many people are using it.

oh..
so is it complex to port over to ppc2002 then? I assume if it uses normal code it should almost be port able.

Windows CE and Linux are quite different in how they handle graphics and sound, which makes it harder to port. You have to translate everything dealing with graphics over to how Windows CE does it. Windows CE is different enough from desktop Windows, that it'd take some effort to port from one to the other as well. (for C anyway, VB and .net aren't too hard, but Mozilla is made in C)

v0.3 scheduled for release next month, and this article details Mozilla's future plans .... can a PPC version be far off? :approve:

because the kind of people whod undertake this project are linux supremests and refuse to develop anything for other platforms

Um... the quoted text already says why.
"Windows CE is different enough from desktop Windows, that it'd take some effort to port from one to the other as well. (for C anyway, VB and .net aren't too hard, but Mozilla is made in C)"
Unless "PC version" means something other than Windows PC in your post.

I'll be glad to see this released for PPC, but it'll have to be amazing to pry me away from Netfront.
