Long time Dell user, No problem
I hear so many complaints about Dell shipping....and either I'm just one lucky guy or too many people like to complain.
I have ordered numerous Dell computer systems for my company, a Dell laptop for myself, several parts and of course my Axim. On EVERY order I have received my shipment before the estimated date.
The only complaint I have is in tech support. Yes, I have had to wait to get through and I always need to make sure I'm talking with a knowledgeable person (They do have a lot of newbies on tech support). .... but this is more indicative of the industry. Try contacting Sony for support....it doesn't exist. Try contacting Compaq for support.....its even worse.
I think people need to realize that customer service "After the sale" on computer related products stinks no matter who you choose.
This is an industry problem.....not a problem with Dell alone.
My decision to choose Dell is much like my decision to use Pocket PC. Dell will be around a long time. While most of the competition stocks as much as 30 days of inventory, Dell only stocks 3 to 5 hours worth of inventory. Their direct selling model is difficult to compete with. That's why Dell is profitable and growing while others are failing. We benefit because Dell can pass those savings onto the consumer. The Axim is an excellent example....just wait and see how Sony and Compaq will be forced to lower their pricing on PDAs to compete.
