Dell didn't include any calculator on "their Axim." Calculator is bundled in Pocket PC by Microsoft.
As Jen mentioned, you can input a decimal point. And I don't know if I've calculated the correct trajectory for launching a satellite into space, but I have been able to do simple addition and multiplication. I find it an indispensible tool.
Yea, if you can get a rom for it, you can get a ti calc emulator (just about the entire 80 series) at www.freewareppc.com. Look under the calculator section.

I like the currency conversion tool within the calculator, if only it had some way to update the rates via the web rather than having to put them in manually.
I do agree that the calculator included is fairly useless (my cell phone's calculator can do the same thing). However, I don't know how often I'd use my Axim in place of a real TI-89. Furthermore, I don't know if you're in school, but I can't imagine any teacher/professor allowing you to use a PDA (or cell phone for that matter) as a calculator for tests, etc.; wireless cheating is too easy.

The calculator is worthless if you want to do anything using more than 2 digits!!
As has been mentioned, the decimal is there.
However, I have to ask why you would need a comma, and also what you mean by "worthless if you want to do anything using more than 2 digits"???
You don't need a comma to type 1,000. Just type it as 1000 without the comma, and it works just fine. I've very rarely seen a calculator with a comma button.

If you want advanced features, use the inbuilt spreadsheet instead.

Try Calc98 from Flow Simulation Ltd.
This is the best piece of freeware I have! A great (too good) conversion tool and they do a desk top version as well. Just about everything you'll ever need with the exception of a graphical interface.
Web address: tttp://www.flosim.com/
You have to register the product, but other than the cost of the call, it's free!!

Personally, I use RDCalc (purchased off handango).
I'm doing an Open University degree at the moment, incuding a maths course, and I find this does the job admirably

As you may have noticed from some of my posts I can be a little slow on the uptake at times!
Now that I have managed to find my way to the downloads section of this fine site, there are several calculators (including calc98) there, all for free.
