Mad Experiences with ordering a Axim X3i from Dell UK

I thought it might be interesting for you people to read my latest email to Dell about my order for a bluetooth enabled Axim X3i. I know that there has been several messages about this and it seems I am one of the unfortunate few that ordered a bluetooth integrated X3i and got delivered one without bluetooth. I have enclosed the email as a text file as it is getting rather long !!! My conclusion is that Customer Care is an oxymoron!!!

Hey Oxy's no moron!

But that really sounds bad! Hope you get it sorted out OK - you been pushing hard - you'd expect that to pay off in the end! But if I'd paid for two pda's because I never got what I originally ordered I'd be really @*#*ed off!

Update on my order

For those who are interested an update on the never ending saga of ordering a bluetooth enabled Axim x3i. Beware that if you order through the Home and Home Office section of their website and you enter your company name, Dell classify it as a business order and you lose your right as a consumer to return the PDA.

Happy reading !!

Dell UK sucks goats big time. Last summer I bought a Dell laptop only to be sent the wrong spec and a seperate drive to install. Im a girl, how the heck did they expect me to build my own laptop?

Then the whole Axim nightmare. I was billed and send an X5 in Spanish. For 5 weeks they didnt want to know, they said that they were selling no Axims anymore, to get out of supplying me one of the same spec or better, which legally they have to. I finally got the X5 switched to english, via some update, and an X3i for only £120. It did take 2 whole months, but the moral is

DONT BOTHER CALLING THEM
DONT BOTHER EMAILING THEM

Send them a letter recorded delivery and ask for it to be resolved to your satisfaction within 7 working days. I know you probably want to call them every single day and scream at them, but just do it this way. Someone will call you and stick to your guns as to what you want from this situation. The person who calls should be someone who just sorts out these problems and you will get a good resolution.

Good luck

I am glad that I am not the only one who is having a problem with Dell UK. I ordered an X5 GPS system early in Dec 03. I received the X5 in jan 04 but had the car charger cable substituted by another cable which was useless. I bought a car charger cable for £9 actual price £19 including postage! as I could not get any reponse from Dell. However I still have not received the GPS system even though they took the money from my account for the GPS quick enough. I have now got to the stage where customer care just say that they will ring me back and refuse to answer any questions. They never ring back. I have never had a response to my e-mails. I have got to the stage where I believe that they (Dell) are guilty of theft from my account and have no intention of ever supplying the goods. I will try the registered letter and will also ensure that they will not get any recommendations from me in the future when my organisation purchases new computer systems.
