Pocket Gear

I have purchased 5 different software downloads from Pocket Gear, when evr there is a problem there is no phone support only e-mail which isn't a real problem unless they don't respond. Which is the case currently I downloaded HTTPMail 4/17/04 and cannot finish install without registration code which my confirmation notice said would be within 24 hours, not buisness days just 24 hours 3 e-mails later still no response, regardless of price you pay this is a frustration. Anyone thinking of using Pocket Gear needs to be aware of this support problem

I've not had a problem with them, but then I use them to locate what I need and then link directly to the author for downloads. It's not that I don't trust them but I've noticed there are some really good deals if you check the author before downloading.

Pocketgear also seems to have the most extensive software library. The biggest problem I have with them is their popularity seems to have affected the speed of their servers.

For anyone in the same situation, before jumping to conclusions you may want to read the confirmation e-mails you receive from PocketGear or Handango, the usually contain a developer message that explains the activation scheme and gives you further instructions. You should also make sure you're not filtering out messages coming from the said developer, he/she may be using a free provider such as hotmail or yahoo. I'm the developer for HTTPMail but this applies to any application with a custom activation scheme you might purchase on the internet.
