visual studio 6.0a
seems to be the most recent version I own...

Anyone know if an old hacker like me can use such ancient tools to make useful apps for my (soon to be delivered) x30?

you can get embedded visual C 4.0, a free download from ms and the SDK from them too. So then you could create eVB or eVC++ apps. As far as I know dev studio 6 will only let you create PC apps.
