I must admit I'm kind of enjoying the various X30 problem threads
I have an X5 Advance and an X3i. I've had them both for a LONG time, at this point. I really love them both and have them both humming along just fine, just the way I like them.
I've been kind of drooling over the X30 High and it's awesome specs, but I really can't justify getting one at this time.
So, while I was a little jealous at first, I mustadmit that I kind of get a kick out of all of the threads related to problems and bugs in the X30s.
I don't say this with any sense of cruelty, as those of us who've have the X5 or the X3s had our own set of problems, too. It's just that since they've been around a while, we kind of forget what it was like before we fixed our own problems. (I'm confident that your issues will be resolved, too.)
You X30 users with problems out there, don't fret, they'll get fixed and one day you can join me and giggle at the new X7 owners and the problem threads they report!;)
Yeah but dont forget, Dell sells thousands of these, while there's only a few on the board with problems :-) so there's probably 100 happy customers for every 1 unhappy customer, the happy ones dont go out searching for help! hehe

It does not matter, Dell ships them, you test them. I got an x3i four months after it came out. Had problems with wifi and/or digitizer/touchscreen on 3 replacements. I'm waiting another couple of months before doing another exchange. So is Dell doing anything right after the x5?

I never had to exchange my X5 or my X3i. I've been very happy with my 2 Axims and with my Dell notebook. In my book, they're doing a lot right. Of course, some percentage will experience problems, but, many of the problems are actually "user-related," i.e., the user is doing something wrong. I can't tell you how many threads start with a major complaint/problem, and then as you go through the post, the original poster does a "never mind" when they figure out what they weren't doing or what they were doing right.
That isn't to say that there aren't some problems. Of course there are. There will always be with our consumer electronic devices due to the nature of the assembly process and the delicate and sophisticated engineering.

I agree 100%! I've always been happy with my Axims.:D
Unhappy customers like me are advanced enough not to seek help but will post here to help and to alert users. Basically all my problems have been hardware, but I wish they were not. It just reflects on Dell's low prices and not enough quality assurance to produce consistantly good units. Again, I got what I paid for and will exchange until a unit functions properly.
