Sync Problems!
This is about the fifth time that I have had this problem. Can anyone help?
I keep getting this sync error:
There was no response from your mobile device while checking out-of-date appointments.
Disconnect your device and try again. If problem persists, reset your device according to your manufacturer's documentation and sync again.
Well, I have reset this device alot of times with no success. I have tried to restore the device and no success there either. The only way that I can get this to work if I give it a hard reset. Then I lose all inforamtion and when I use the restore since I back up the system periodically it still gives me the same error.
Can anyone please help!
Sorry for the duplicate thread! No one seems to have an answer..

I think when you restore, you restore the problem.

To start with, this is not my solution - I copied it from another thread because I did not know how to link to it in a message. This answer came from Ephex Double, and forwarded to me by Ike Hiker.
Thank goodness for this forum and people like Ephex and Ike. they are lifesavers.
"Problem is solved......................really!!
First of all do you have Resco Picture Viewer?? If so that is the problem.
Follow these instructs to sync every time..........
"Viewed 49 times
I found this fix on the Microsoft site in their user forum:
1) Remove the file named "picViewSync.dat" (If you have it) in the windows
directory on the pocket PC
2) Perform a soft reset
3) Synchronize again
If you're nervous, as I was, about deleting a system file like this, cut/paste it into your temp folder rather than deleting it. I'm now fully synchronized for the first time in days. "
I have dumped Resco Pic Viewer, because I have ACDsee, and I sync every time.
Man am I happy..........................................."

Sync problem fixed!
Thank you so much for finding this answer. I was having the exact same problem of not being able to sync some out-of-date contact or appointment or task.
I have ACDSee on my PC, is there a Pocket PC version?
Thanks again,
Neil:D

Appreciate that answer, but alas I do not have Resco picture viewer. And this file is not in my windows directory. Any other ideas\suggestions that might help

Welll Newbie... I am having the same problem.. Went through all of the fixes that I could find.. What I ended up doing was selecting "Guest" for the Axim when Activesync asked me and I can connect now... Can't sync but at least I'm connected to it...
Sorr if this doen't help much...

Try to isolate the problem
Thanks for the fix with Resco Picture Viewer. That seemed to fix it for me.
For those with the problem still existing, I would suggest disabling everything to be sync'd inside of ActivSync. Then see if you can connect and stay connected. Then go through turning on Sync individually for each App you sync. Chances are you will be able to at least figure out what does not sync.
Unfortunately, I don't know where to go from there, but at least it should give you more specific info as to what is going wrong.

Ed - I am loving you right now (in a virtual sort of way). Everyting is working again. I just did what you said and "whalla." Back working like a champ.
I did find that the problem is in synching from my in-box. I'll tool around and see what the problem is. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. If I can come across something - I will post.
Thank you for your post Ed, I really appreciate it!.

My Dell X5 sync intermittently and when it does sync Contacts duplicates a bunch of the contacts. I am asked to remove duplicates and then it sync's.
I have the same issue with my notes. When I try to delete I lose all the repeated NOTES including the original.
I don't want to have to save every Note individually to another file then delete the repeat file.
Is there an easy fix?
Thx.
