ya, it is hard to get used to, i have used IE for seemingly ever and it is wierd to switch (or halfway switch like i did, i still have IE and Firefox icons in my quicklaunch tray :))
I've used FireFox and loved the tabbed browsing, but have recently been using MyIE2 with Internet Explorer. It's a nice free add-on for IE and it allows tabbed browsing and saving sessions, etc. I really like it!
I use Opera's latest beta as my main and default web browser. It is fast, secure and dependable, i love the built-in email client which doesn't slow down the browser or my system at all.
I enjoy the fact that it doesn't have the security holes of MSIE which is one of the reasons i decided to find something better. The compatibility for reading websites is there including the colored scrollbars, and loading speeds are greatly improved.
I did try Firefox for a while, but found the system of caching websites to be of poor quality as the one in Netscape.
I found Opera to have less strain on my system, especially during periods when i have a number of programs running including PhotoImpact and other image editing programs and 10 - 20 websites open in the browser.
The websites are displayed in tabs that allows for easy switching from within the browser between sites, and there's even a built-in chat or irc client that i've found useful. I almost forgot the popup and ads blocker, which is so perfect that i don't even think about popups anymore.
The interface of the web browser is totally skinable and can be configured to look like IE, Netscape, or even Firefox if you'd like. Personally i enjoy a simple interface and keep mine as such.
I realize some are put off by the fact that Opera costs money, but there is a free version with ads to test, and there are a number of deals out there that can save you some cash on the final purchase.
I personally don't mind spending the money to get something of such high quality and security, especially since the web browser, chat, and email clients all together here are what i use most of the time on my system and i only want the best.
There are other browsers out there, but i hope you'll take my advice when i say that Opera is the best choice out right now for everyone and is worth every dollar.
The firefox RC .09 is awesome!! There are some improvements and features that could be added, but I believe they will come in the GA or future releases. Watch out IE!!! ;)
